COUNTER POISE
EARTH SYSTEMS
KEPL specializes in the design and manufacture of Counterpoise Earth Systems for DVOR (Doppler VHF Omni-directional Range)—a vital navigational aid used at airports. These systems are engineered for high-precision communication, particularly in challenging environments where ground reflections and siting conditions could affect signal integrity. The counterpoise setup ensures stable performance by minimizing environmental interference and maintaining consistent signal tolerance throughout the year.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Counterpoise (CP) is a steel-structured platform elevated 5 meters above ground level, featuring a steel wire mesh radial sheet that acts as the earth plane. This elevation ensures that signal reflections remain uniform across all seasons, enhancing DVOR accuracy.
CP structures are available in circular or polygonal shapes, with standard diameters of 9 meters, 18 meters, and 30 meters. Installation takes place on plain, leveled ground, as designated by airport authorities. Each unit includes a central antenna mounting platform, perimeter walkway, a trap door for access, and a ladder for maintenance personnel.
KEPL’s Counterpoise Earth Systems are designed for long-term durability, precision performance, and safe maintenance access, making them an essential component for reliable air navigation infrastructure.
